Christmas spree: Government to start a special train service to facilitate Christians
Federal government all set to inaugurate a special Christmas train service on the occasion of Christmas. The train will be inaugurated on December 22, Thursday. The train service is intended to facilitate the Christmas community in travelling across the country.
This train will include eight wagons, two floats and two galleries. The inauguration will take place in Margalla Railway Station, while the Ministry of Human Rights will bear the expenses of the Christmas train service. This is for the first time in the history of the country that a special train service will be inaugurated marking Christmas.
This service will be inaugurated by Minister of Railways Khawaja Saad Rafique and Minister for Human Rights Kamran Michael who hails from Pakistani Christian community. Following the inaugural, the train will travel to Peshawar and will travel across the country from Peshawar to Karachi via all major cities. On December 31, Christmas train will reach Karachi.This service has been made possible by the efforts of Federal Minister Kamran Michael.
On the other hand, Managing Director of Pakistan Carriage Factory Islamabad Muhammad Yousaf said that Minister for Railways Khawaja Saad Rafique had directed that arrangements should be made to ensure that Christmas train is decorated on the pattern of Azadi train which was inaugurated on the occasion of the Independence Day.
Muhammad Yousaf said that workers of the carriage factory have already begun working on the special train for Christmas. He said that Christmas train will be ready in ten days’ time, while Ministry of Human Rights will bear all the expenses incurred on the preparations of this train.
