Pakistan is the third largest Islamic state in the world, where 95% of the population is Muslim and the remaining 5% are Christians, Hindus, and members of other religions.

Religious minorities are facing extreme persecution today.  Within the system of the Blasphemy Laws, rape, abduction, violence, forced conversion and slavery have become the tools of persecution against these minorities.

According to Pakistan’s Blasphemy Laws, anyone who is convicted of speaking ill of Islam or the prophet Muhammed faces the death penalty.  The law is very vaguely worded, used arbitrarily, and it destroys any neutrality the state might have in resolution of conflict.  To make matters worse, empowered by these laws, mobs form and violently torch and destroy Christian homes and churches purely based on accusations.
